this is what i love about Hook being with the Emma and the Charmings though—even if they won’t so easily get along (right away), it’s already a healthier partnership than ones he’s had with Cora, or Regina, or Gregmara just because unlike anyone else: they’re upfront with him.

They’re “clear”. That’s already way more than anyone has given him. Rather than snakily dancing around each other and trying to be the first to double-cross the other, Hook has had to earn their trust (and still will continue to). This is a good thing for him, as what we saw of pre-Hook Killian (and glimmers of it with Emma) shows him to be a man as equally upfront as Charming.
